Insanely Dutch

I have been meaning to talk about this for ages...SPACE. That will be for my big 100th post. For now though, have a look at this.
Basically, the European Space Agency, ESA, has been charged with development and construction of the Automated Transfer Vehicle. Its the largest most complex craft built by the ESA and will supply the International Space Station with food, supplies, fuel and give the station a boost into a higher orbit. The module was built in Europe but has to be shipped to Kourou in South America for launch.
The module was thus shipped from Rotterdam but to get such a large package there, what better way than to go by canal!
18th century meets 21st....how very 'European'.

Dear EE, I have, (presuming that it is you, I had to google it), replied to your comment on Pigdogfucker. I look forward to your reply.
As a matter of nosiness, what was your thesis on?
I am to busy to make a reply.
As for what I am doing....I don;t know you...but I am one of those useless academic types who reads the Guardian and thinks the EU is not such a bad thing.
